Aberdeenshire Coastal Towns Tour

At the designated time, we'll gather in front of the statue of William Wallace, ready to explore the fishing villages of Aberdeenshire.

Our first stops are the villages of Gardenstown and Crovie, located on the red sandstone cliffs. We will enjoy views of the Scottish countryside and learn about the villages' history.

Next, we will visit Pennan, a fishing village from the 18th century known as the setting for the film Local Hero. Nearby is New Aberdour beach, home to caves that were once used for smuggling, revealing stories of Aberdeenshire's coastline.

We will also stop in Fraserburgh, which features one of Scotland's earliest lighthouses and has historical significance as a former castle. We will explore the town's architecture and its bustling seafood port, the largest in the region.

Our journey continues to Cruden Bay, where we will pause to explore the ruins of New Slains Castle, dating back to the 16th century.

Finally, we will visit the port of Collieston to hear the legend of the smuggler Phillip Kennedy, adding a captivating conclusion to our day.

After an eight-hour tour of the coastal villages of Aberdeenshire, we will return to our starting point in Aberdeen.
