Description

We'll meet at the William Wallace statue in Aberdeen at the designated time and begin our adventure through Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle.

The journey starts with a scenic drive to Balmoral Castle, the residence of the British royal family. Along the way, enjoy the rugged landscape of hills and mountains by the River Dee and take photos before arriving at the castle, which has historical significance from the mid-nineteenth century when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert acquired it.

Explore the royal residence at your own pace, including the Balmoral gardens, grand ballroom, and views of Aberdeenshire. Next, traverse Cairngorm National Park. Stop at Gairnshields Bridge, a viaduct from 1751, and enjoy the Caigngorm Hills before visiting Ballater.

Stroll through this town and have lunch at a local cafe. After lunch, pass by Cambus O'May Bridge and visit the ancient stone circle of Tomnavarie, a funerary monument over 4500 years old.

We'll conclude our excursion at The Queen's View in Tarland, offering a vista that once captivated Queen Victoria. Finally, we will return to Aberdeen after seven and a half hours of sightseeing.

Balmoral Castle opening dates

Balmoral Castle closes in summer for the royal family. If your tour is during these months, we will visit Braemar Castle instead, the residence of the Farquharson clan.
