Meet at the William Wallace statue in Aberdeen at the designated time to begin the journey through Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle.

The trip starts with a scenic drive to Balmoral Castle, renowned as the fortress of the British royal family. Enjoy the views of the rugged landscape along the River Dee before arriving at the castle, which was acquired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in the mid-nineteenth century.

Explore the royal residence at your own pace, including the Balmoral gardens, the grand ballroom, and scenic Aberdeenshire views.

Next, traverse Cairngorm National Park, with a stop at the Gairnshields Bridge, a historical viaduct over the Gairn River. After enjoying the Cairngorm Hills, visit the Victorian village of Ballater for a leisurely stroll and lunch at local cafes. Onward, we will pass the Cambus O'May Bridge and visit the ancient stone circle of Tomnavarie, a site over 4500 years old.

The tour concludes at The Queen's View in Tarland, offering a vista appreciated by Queen Victoria. Return to Aberdeen after a total of seven and a half hours of sightseeing.

Balmoral Castle opening dates

Balmoral Castle is closed in summer for the royal family. Tours during this time will visit Braemar Castle, residence of the Farquharson clan instead.
