Experience the beauty of Scotland's inland landscapes on a day trip from Aberdeen to Balmoral Castle and Royal Deeside.
Description
We will meet at the William Wallace statue in Aberdeen and embark on our journey through Royal Deeside and to Balmoral Castle. The trip includes a scenic drive to the castle, known as the estate of the British royal family, with views of the rugged landscape along the River Dee.
Exploration of Balmoral includes the Balmoral gardens, grand ballroom, and panoramic views of Aberdeenshire. Leaving the castle, we will travel through Cairngorm National Park and stop at the Gairnshields Bridge before visiting the Victorian village of Ballater for a stroll and lunch at local cafes. After lunch, we will pass the Cambus O'May Bridge and visit the ancient stone circle of Tomnavarie.
Our final stop is The Queen's View in Tarland, which charmed Queen Victoria during her visit. We will return to Aberdeen after approximately seven and a half hours.
Balmoral Castle opening dates
Balmoral Castle closes in summer for the royal family. Tours during this period will visit Braemar Castle instead.
