Taxco Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7 am and make our way to Taxco de Alarcón, the silver capital of the world! The journey takes approximately three and a half hours. Upon arrival, we will visit the local silver workshops to learn about the mining industry and its significance in the area, along with the skills of the local craftsmen working with zinc, copper, and silver.

Next, the tour will visit the church of Santa Prisca, a Spanish-Baroque style basilica known for its detailed ornamentation, including an altarpiece representing the Souls of Purgatory and a delicate ribbed vault. This site reflects the craftsmanship of the region and its mining history.

After the visit, enjoy the atmosphere and craft shops of the Zócalo, or Plaza Borda, where you will have two hours of free time to explore its colonial streets and visit temples such as San Bernardino de Siena, San Miguel Arcángel, or San Nicolás. Be sure to sample the local cuisine in one of the restaurants.

We will take you back to your hotel in Acapulco, arriving around 7 pm.
