Best of Ghana: 12-Day Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Accra

Upon landing at Accra airport, you'll be met and transported to your hotel in the capital. The day is yours to unwind and settle in.

Day 2: Accra

The day begins with breakfast, followed by a guided exploration of Accra. Our first visit will be to Independence Square, then continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Ghana's first president.

Next, explore the vibrant artisan market and the historic James Town district, known for its lighthouses. We'll return to the hotel for dinner to cap off the day.

Day 3: Accra - Shai Hills - Aburi - Accra

In the morning, visit Teshie Nungua, famed for its 'fantasy coffins'. Afterward, we proceed to the Shai Hills Reserve to observe local wildlife like antelopes and baboons.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Aburi Botanical Garden and the Tetteh Quarshie Farm, known for its cacao. Before heading back to Accra, visit the Plant Medicine Scientific Research Centre. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 4: Accra - Akosombo - Ho

We will depart from Accra to witness the impressive Akosombo Dam and the expansive Volta Lake.

Stop at Tafi Atome to see its monkey sanctuary, followed by a journey to our hotel in Ho for dinner.

Day 5: Ho - Wli - Tamale

Travel north towards Tamale, with a visit to the Agumatsa Forest Reserve and onwards to Wli Waterfalls, Ghana's tallest at 24 meters.

Arriving in Tamale, check into your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Tamale - Tongo - Paga - Mole

Begin with a warm welcome in Tongo, then proceed to Paga, known for its sacred crocodiles. After a market visit in Tamale, we’ll continue to Mole National Park for a memorable night safari. Overnight accommodations will be at the hotel in Mole.

Day 7: Mole

Start early with a guided exploration of Mole National Park. Enjoy free time to relax at the hotel pool while observing elephants nearby.

In the afternoon, visit the village of Morgounori to learn about traditional Northern Ghanaian lifestyles and take a canoe ride before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8: Mole - Kumasi

After breakfast, we move towards Kumasi, stopping at the Kintampo Waterfalls before reaching the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Explore the bustling central market and learn about the Okomfo Anokye Sword, steeped in local myth. Return to your Kumasi hotel for dinner.

Day 9: Kumasi

The day begins with a visit to the Manhyia Palace and a walk through Kumasi's historic center, ending at the National Cultural Centre, home to the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum.

Next, visit the Ashanti artisan villages of Ahwiaa and Bonwire to see craftspeople at work. Conclude your day with dinner back at the hotel.

Day 10: Kumasi - Busua

Departure from Kumasi leads us toward the coast with a stop in Obuasi, a significant gold mining city.

Arriving at Busua, check into a hotel renowned for its stunning beaches. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon on the sand and dinner in your hotel.

Day 11: Busua - Cape Coast

Visit the historic Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by Kakum National Park and its famous canopy walkway, offering stunning views.

End your day with a return to the beachfront hotel in Elmina for facilities use and dinner.

Day 12: Cape Coast - Accra

Your final morning includes visits to Cape Coast Castle and the West African History Museum.

After the tours, we’ll return to Accra for your transfer to the airport, marking the conclusion of your Best of Ghana: 12-Day Tour.
