On this sunset boat tour of Aci Trezza, participants will enjoy the scenic Sicilian coast at sunset along with a typical dinner.
Tour Description
At the designated time, we will meet at via Ricca. After a brief introduction, we will board a boat to explore the coast of Aci Trezza.
The tour will begin with a passage by the island of Lachea, part of a protected volcanic area, known as the Cyclops Archipelago. Participants will see the famous Faraglioni rock formations, linked to the myth of Polyphemus.
Next, the tour will proceed past Aci Castello, featuring a Norman castle on a basaltic promontory. We will then head towards Ognina, an ancient coastal village of Catania, home to the Caves of Ulysses, which are only visible from the sea.
Before dinner, and depending on weather conditions, we will take a short break for a swim near Lachea Island or the Faraglioni.
After about one hour of sailing, we will disembark at Aci Trezza to visit a Sicilian family house for a typical dinner featuring dishes such as mussels au gratin, pasta with anchovies, octopus, caponata, Sicilian cannoli, and local wine. The trip lasts approximately 5 hours before returning to the initial meeting point.
