Boat Trip and Wine Tasting

At the indicated time we'll meet at Via Ricca in Aci Trezza. From here, we'll walk to the harbour to get on the boat that will take us to the Marine Protected Area of the Cyclops Islands. The boat trip lasts about two hours and allows you to admire the beauty of this small Italian archipelago. The name comes from the legend of the voyage of Ulysses.

We'll first see the Isola di Lachea, the largest of the Cyclops islands. Here, we will discuss the archaeological wealth of the area, including tombs and numerous late Roman artefacts. As we explore, we'll also admire the Faraglione Grande and Faraglione Piccolo and learn about their connection to Etna's eruptions.

Before returning, we'll view the Norman castle of Aci Castello and the Ulysses caves. Those interested can take a dip in the caves.

After docking, we'll stroll through the village of Aci Trezza to a traditional wine bar. For 45 minutes, we'll learn about local wine production and enjoy a tasting of two varieties accompanied by Sicilian wines and local appetizers. The activity concludes after approximately 3 hours, arriving back at the starting point.
