Tour Details

At the indicated time we'll meet at Via Ricca in Aci Trezza. From here, we'll walk to the harbour to get on the boat that will take us to the Marine Protected Area of the Cyclops Islands.

The boat trip around the Cyclops Islands lasts about two hours. We will discuss the legend of Ulysses as we depart from Aci Trezza. We'll first see the Isola di Lachea, the largest of the Cyclops islands, and explore its archaeological significance, including late Roman artefacts.

We will also admire the Faraglione Grande and the Faraglione Piccolo, while discussing their connection to the eruptions of Etna. Before returning, we will see the Norman castle of Aci Castello from the 7th century and the Ulysses caves, where swimming is possible.

After the tour, a lunch with typical Sicilian products will be served. This includes arancino di riso catanese, baked onions, and cartocciata alla parmigiana, complemented by wine and water, and a Sicilian dessert of almond paste.

After 3 hours in total, we'll conclude the activity, arriving back at the starting point.
