Visit the Vatican of the South on this private tour of Acireale, where you'll walk among its many baroque-style churches and enjoy the wild coastline.

Description

We'll meet at the Piazza Duomo to begin our private tour of Acireale. The first stop is the Maria Santissima Annunziata Cathedral, known for its baroque architecture.

Entering the Duomo de Acireale, we will observe the frescoes adorning its columns and ceilings. After exiting, we'll see the two bell towers and the adjacent Palazzo Comunale.

As we traverse this town at the foot of Mt. Etna, we will pass the Museo Opera dei Pupi, showcasing the Sicilian tradition of marionette theater. Continuing through the streets, we will reach the Basilica of San Sebastiano, featuring a facade with an ornate balustrade and biblical decorations.

In the alleyways, the sweet aroma from classic pastry shops will tempt us with treats such as ricotta-filled cannolis.

Next, we will preview the Pinacoteca de Zelantea, home to significant historical artifacts like fossils, ancient coins, and artworks by Guercino and Van Dyke.

To conclude, we'll visit the stunning volcanic coastline, including views of the Sant'Anna Lighthouse and Timpa Natural Park beaches. The tour lasts about two hours.
