    Ponte 25 de Abril

    Most famous red bridge in Portugal, once known has Salazar Bridge - name of the portuguese president dictator that order its construction in 1958. On 25 of April 1974, took place the revolution to take down the regime and the bridge name was changed to that date has a reminder and to celebrate that regime downfall.

    Castelo de Palmela

    Climb up the Castle of Palmela - a huge fortification complex that stands atop ot the Arrabida Hill in that village. Appreciate the stuning views over the Tagus and Sado estuaries. This castle and wall provided a strategic defense line in the early Poruguese dynasties.

    Castle of Alcacer do Sal

    Visit Alcácer do Sal, located in a patchwork of rice fields by the side of the Sado river and still marshalled by a medieval castle, with a superb museum in its crypt that brings to light 2,700 years of history.

    Follow the seaside route to Sines, the birthplace of the famous explorer Vasco da Gama that found and established the trade routes between Portugal and India.

    Vila Nova de Milfontes

    The village was frequently attacked by pirates and was destroyed completely in 1590. Subsequently, a fortress was constructed on this site: the Fort of São Clemente (Forte de São Clemente), which was constructed between 1599 and 1602

    Ponte Vasco da Gama

    It is the second longest bridge in Europe, after the Crimean Bridge, and the longest one in the European Union. Construction began in February 1995; was opened to traffic on 29 March 1998, just in time for Expo 98, the World's Fair that celebrated the 500th anniversary of the discovery by Vasco da Gama of the sea route from Europe to India.
