Discover the landmarks in Athens lit up on this night walking tour around Monastiraki Square, one of the most lively and vibrant areas in the city.
Description
The evening tour will start at the entrance to Hotel the Dolli. We will begin our night tour of Plaka and Monastiraki. In the city center, we will find two historic temples: the Orthodox Church of St. Mary Pantanassa and the Tzistarakis Mosque. We will admire the illumination of these buildings while learning about their history.
Behind the mosque are the remains of the ancient library of Hadrian. Next to this site, we will enjoy views of the Acropolis of Athens and its main monuments, including the Parthenon, the Propylaea, and the Erechtheion. The illumination allows us to admire these remnants of ancient times in Athens.
Near the Hadrianic library, we will find the Cathedral of the Annunciation of St. Mary and various signs of the imperial era such as Hadrian's Arch, dating back to the 2nd century AD. After 2.5 hours, we will end our night tour by returning to the starting point.
Dinner
You can select a tour option with dinner. After the tour, directions to the Meandros restaurant will be provided, where you will enjoy a meal consisting of an appetizer, Greek salad, and a main course with five varieties of meat and bread. The total duration of this option will be 4.5 hours.
