Explore temples, throne halls, and the Emerald Buddha: delve into the rich cultural legacy of the Grand Palace in Bangkok through this guided tour conducted in English.

Itinerary for the Grand Palace Guided Tour

The impressive Grand Palace stands as the most significant landmark in Bangkok. Constructed in the late 18th century as the royal family's residence, the elaborately designed structures, sacred temples, lush gardens, and spacious courtyards of this complex continue to serve as the venue for various ceremonies and state occasions after numerous generations.

During your visit, you will be collected from your hotel located in central Bangkok, and then transported to the Grand Palace, where you will start uncovering the intriguing myths and legends tied to this landmark. As you explore, you'll find yourself enchanted by the stunning architecture of the site, particularly the beautifully carved designs adorning the gold-lacquered multi-tiered roofs of several Phra Thinang, or “Throne Halls.”

Within the palace grounds, numerous temples await your discovery, the standout being Wat Phra Kaew, known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Recognized as the most sacred temple in Thailand, it houses the nation's palladium (a protective emblem) - a figurine of the seated Buddha crafted from jade and dressed in gold. As you admire the revered statue, standing at 26 inches (66 cm), you will grasp its significance and the elaborate pedestal that supports it.

Your guided exploration of the Grand Palace will also include visits to other notable structures within the complex, such as the Coronation Throne Hall, the Royal Reception Hall, the Royal Funeral Hall, the Golden Chedi, and the Royal Pantheon.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Bangkok.

It is important to adhere to a strict dress code for entry into the Grand Palace:
