On this bike tour of Bordeaux, we will see the main attractions of this French city while reviewing its history.

Bordeaux City Bike Tour

We'll meet at the designated time on Rue du Jardin Public in Bordeaux. After a brief technical talk, we will start the bicycle tour of the main districts of the capital of New Aquitaine. The route, primarily through flat areas, will be approximately 15 kilometres long.

We will first explore the historic district of Saint-Michel, located on the banks of the Garonne River. The main architectural feature here is the Saint-Michel Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will pause to discuss its history and that of its district.

The tour will continue with a look at the church of Sainte-Croix, a former Benedictine abbey recognized as a Historical Monument of France. We will highlight its architecture and the Merovingian period during which it was built.

Next, we will visit the Jardin Public, followed by the renowned Chartrons district, known for its restaurants and bistros. To the north, we will reach the Bacalan district, where the impressive Cité du Vin is located.

From Bacalan, we will cross to the La Bastide district, known for its bohemian atmosphere, before returning to the starting point to conclude the bike tour.
