Tour Details
We will meet at the Mirador de El Salvador to start our tour of Úbeda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will begin walking down the Paseo de la Rotonda de los Miradores to a lookout point to admire the Valle del Guadalquivir and see the Hospital de los Honrados Viejos del Salvador.
Next, we’ll arrive at the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina, home to the Palacio del Deán Ortega and the Sacra Capilla del Salvador, where we will enter to explore the 16th-century chapel, learning about local culture and legends.
We will then see the Palacio de Francisco de los Cobos, significant to the city's development in the 16th century. Following this, we will go to the Gradeta de Santo Tomás, site of the ruins of Saint Thomas the Apostle and the Jewish Houses.
Then, we’ll visit the Convento de San Miguel, home to the Discalced Carmelites, learning about St. John of the Cross. Our next stop will be Plaza Primer de Mayo, once the city’s market square. Finally, we will stroll along Calle Real before concluding our 2.5-hour tour back at the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina.
