Dachau Concentration Camp
With the rise of Hitler, a camp for political prisoners was established in Dachau, operating for 12 years. The main facilities were completed in March 1933, and the first prisoners arrived the following day. Over 200,000 prisoners passed through the camp, with more than 40,000 being killed.
The tour begins by meeting the guide on Dachauer Straße in the morning. We will travel to the Dachau concentration camp, located 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Munich. The journey involves a train and a bus, taking approximately 40 minutes.
After arrival, we will enter through the same gate as the prisoners and visit the courtyard, entrance hall, bathrooms, prison, barracks, gas chamber, cremation ovens, and various commemorative monuments.
We will learn about the day-to-day life of the prisoners and gain insights into this dark period of German history. The return journey to Munich will also take about 40 minutes, with a total duration of the tour between 4 and 5 hours.
Important to note
