Salamanca Private Tour
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Plaza Mayor to begin our private tour of Salamanca, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Spanish town features architectural masterpieces in Picaresque style and is rich in unique facts.
During the visit, we will see the famous shells of St. James at the Casa de las Conchas, located across from the temple of La Clerecía, formerly a Jesuit College and currently the Pontifical University.
The tour will continue down Libreros Street to the University of Salamanca, the oldest in Spain, associated with notable figures like Fray Luis de León and Unamuno. We will admire the Picaresque details of its façade before venturing inside to see the renowned Sky of Salamanca, a 15th-century fresco.
Next, we will visit the two cathedrals, starting with the New Cathedral, constructed from 1513 to 1733. The Old Cathedral offers a journey back to the Middle Ages, showcasing its architecture and sculptures. We will explore the cloister, once the seat of the first University of Salamanca, and highlight the Chapel of Santa Barbara.
Finally, after two hours, our tour will conclude at the Casa Lis Museum, a popular site in Castilla and León.
