Imposing castles, grand palaces & mythical mansions... Discover a new side of Scotland by exploring the filming locations of the legendary TV series Outlander on this tour from Edinburgh.

Description

We'll meet at 60 High Street and begin a day of exploring famous filming locations from Outlander. Departing from the city, we will head into the Scottish countryside.

The first stop will be Midhope Castle, known as "Lallybroch Castle" in the series.

Next, we will visit Doune Castle, recognized as "Castle Leoch" from Outlander, the residence of the Mackenzie clan, which also featured in Game of Thrones and Monty Python.

We will then head to the Kingdom of Fife and stop for lunch in the Royal Burgh of Culross, the fictional village of Cranesmuir, where Claire faces witchcraft accusations, showcasing 17th and 18th-century architecture.

Following lunch, we will proceed to Falkland, representing the Inverness of the 1940s in Outlander, with over 28 historic buildings.

Our final stop will be Blackness Castle, referred to as Fort William in the series. After a full day, we will return to Edinburgh and drop you off at the Edinburgh bus station.

Temporary Closures

Please note that Midhope Castle will be closed on November 12, 16, 18, 26, and 28, and from December 24, 2024, to March 25, 2025. On these dates, we will admire the castle's exterior and visit Linlithgow Palace instead.
