Imposing castles, grand palaces & mythical mansions... Discover a new side of Scotland by exploring the filming locations of the legendary TV series Outlander on this tour from Edinburgh.

Description

We'll meet at 60 High Street and prepare for a day exploring the filming locations of the famous series Outlander. Depart from the city and head into the Scottish countryside, embracing the scenery that inspired the historical time travel TV show.

The first stop will be Midhope Castle, known as "Lallybroch Castle" in the series.

Next, we'll visit Doune Castle, recognized as "Castle Leoch" from Outlander and also featured in Game of Thrones and Monty Python.

Then, we will stop for lunch in the Royal Burgh of Culross, the fictional village of Cranesmuir, where Claire is accused of witchcraft, showcasing typical 17th and 18th-century architecture.

After lunch, we’ll continue to the town of Falkland, which represents the Inverness of the 1940s, featuring over 28 buildings from that era.

Our last stop will be Blackness Castle, known as Fort William in the series, before returning to Edinburgh for drop-off at the Edinburgh bus station.

Temporary Closures

Midhope Castle will be closed on November 12, 16, 18, 26 and 28 and from December 24, 2024, to March 25, 2025. On these days, we'll admire the castle's exterior and visit Linlithgow Palace instead.
