An abandoned city and one of the most impressive cisterns in India are the two attractions that await you on this day trip to Fatehpur Sikri and Chand Baori from Agra. Ready to be amazed?

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Agra and then set off to Fatehpur Sikri, driving for about an hour to get there.

Welcome to the best-preserved ghost town in the world! We'll start touring this UNESCO World Heritage Site and admire its buildings that combine Indian and Arabian architecture.

Fatehpur Sikri was only inhabited for less than 20 years due to water scarcity. Built by Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century, it has a remarkable legacy that has survived.

During the visit, we'll see the Buland Darwaza Gate, the mosque, and the tomb of saint Salim Chishti, among other landmarks.

After exploring Fatehpur Sikri, we'll travel for two hours to Abhaneri to visit the Chand Baori cistern, one of the most photographable places in Rajasthan.

We'll discuss the origins of this 9th-century water reservoir and its significance as the deepest stepwell in the country.

Finally, after 8 hours, we'll return you to your hotel in Agra or end the tour in Jaipur, dropping you off in the city center.
