Gwalior Private Day Excursion

Your journey commences with a pickup from your hotel in Agra, embarking on a scenic drive of about two and a half hours towards the historic city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.

The first highlight of our trip is the majestic Gwalior Fort. This majestic fortress, commissioned in the 15th century by Rajah Man Singh Tomar, reveals the tumultuous chapters of its history. Look closely at the intricately carved sculptures adorning the fortress, which bear witness to its storied past.

Following our exploration of the fort, a lunch break will be scheduled, offering you an hour to savor the local delicacies at one of the nearby eateries—a great chance to try something unique!

Post-lunch, our tour resumes at the Jai Vilas Palace, where we will delve into its architectural marvels and the inspiration drawn from renowned European designs.

The palace is also home to the Scindia Museum, named after one of Gwalior’s influential dynasties. Explore various museum rooms showcasing items such as carriages, sculptures, and exquisite decorative pieces, including intricately crafted Belgian glass furniture.

After completing the museum tour, we will proceed to return to your hotel in Agra.

Please note that the tour does not cover the admission costs for Gwalior Fort, Jai Vilas Palace, or Scindia Museum. The collective ticket price for these locations is approximately 13 USD per person.
