Moonlight Garden and Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah Private Tour

We will collect you from the hotel and head towards the Itimad-ud-Daulah tomb. This mausoleum is located on the banks of the river Yamuna and is commonly known as “the small Taj.”

During our visit we will discover why the tomb is considered a precursor to the famous Taj Mahal. We will learn about the relationship of the nobleman interred in the mausoleum with the emperor who constructed the Taj Mahal decades later while admiring the architecture of this white marble building.

We will continue the tour in the Mehtab Bagh garden. This square park was constructed on the banks opposite the most celebrated monument in India: the best views of the Taj Mahal can be caught from its grounds.

During the visit you will learn about the history of the Mehtab Bagh. Legend has it that Shah Jahan, who designed the Taj Mahal, wanted to construct a black marble replica here. Is there any truth to this rumour?

Stroll around the symmetrical gardens at your own leisure and take photos of the Taj Mahal. When the tour has finished we will take you back to your hotel.
