On this tour of the Valley of the Temples, we'll travel back to classical times to discover what life was like in ancient Akragas and visit buildings that inspired philosophers and poets.

Valley of the Temples Tour

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the ticket office of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento to start this tour of one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Italy and a World Heritage Site.

During the tour, we'll explore the valley, which includes twelve temples, two agoras, and a bouleuterion, the meeting place of the boulé or council.

This area was the center of ancient Akragas, the first Greek settlement in Agrigento. We will visit significant structures that inspired poets and philosophers while uncovering their history and architectural features.

We'll begin with the Temple of Juno and then proceed to the remains of the surrounding walls. Next, we will visit the Temple of Concordia and the early Christian necropolis nearby.

Additionally, we will see the Temple of Heracles and the remains of the Temple of Zeus, as we explore significant mythological divinities honored at these sites.

The tour will conclude about 2 hours after the starting time.
