Valley of the Temples Tour

We will meet at the ticket office of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento at the specified time to start the tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley features twelve temples, two agoras, and a bouleuterion where the council convened.

This site was the center of ancient Akragas, the first Greek settlement in Agrigento. We will examine structures that inspired historical figures, discussing their history and architectural details. Our first stop will be the Temple of Juno, including the surrounding walls. Following this, we will visit the Temple of Concordia, which contains the remains of an early Christian necropolis.

We will also view the Temple of Heracles and the remains of the Temple of Zeus as we highlight some classical mythological deities to whom these sites were dedicated. The tour will conclude approximately 2 hours after it begins.
