On this excursion to the Pertosa Caves, we'll explore these ancient caves near the Charterhouse of Padula and visit the baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonte!

Pertosa Caves Excursion

At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Cinetheater of Agropoli, where we'll board the minibus to travel to the Pertosa Caves, also known as the "Angel's Caves." We will go deep into the earth and explore these ancient caves, discovering their hidden treasures, including a palafitic village from the 2nd century BC and an underground river. We will take a boat ride on the Black River, a unique phenomenon in this part of Italy.

After touring the caves, we'll visit the baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonte, which dates back to the 4th century and is built over a spring that feeds the baptismal font.

Finally, we will return to Agropoli, concluding the tour 3 hours after the beginning of the excursion.
