Tour of Agropoli
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the access steps to the historical center of Agropoli leading to the Angio-Aragonese castle.
We will first cross the Porta Bizantina, one of the town's main medieval entrances. Once inside, we will explore the historic atmosphere of Agropoli Vecchia, walking along cobbled streets lined with stone houses.
Next, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, a 16th-century sacred architectural gem with a simple facade and an interior adorned with frescoes. Following this, we'll navigate the narrow streets of the village to experience the authentic atmosphere of a typical Cilento village.
We will then go to the Aragonese Castle to admire its exterior. This 8th-century fortress overlooks the village from its promontory, where we will learn about its history and legends. Finally, we will descend to a viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views of the sea and cliffs.
Concluding our tour, we will visit the port of Agropoli for a coffee and cake or ice cream, completing the experience after 3 hours.
