Aguascalientes Haciendas Tour
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our tour of the historic haciendas of Aguascalientes.
First, we'll visit El Chichimeco, an 18th century hacienda that belonged to the Armillita family, known for their involvement in bullfighting. We'll tour the farmhouse to see bullfighting artefacts including costumes, trophies, and newspapers.
We'll then travel to the Garabato Hacienda and the neoclassical Basilica of San Isidro. This hacienda was one of the first in Mexico dedicated to breeding fighting bulls.
Next, we'll visit San Blas, a 17th century agricultural hacienda that houses the Insurgencia Museum. Here, we'll learn about Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and the Battle of Calderón Bridge. This site is adjacent to the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, a 2560-kilometre trade route from Mexico City to Santa Fe.
At 1 pm, we will drop you back at your hotel.
