No trip to Corsica is complete without visiting the Sanguinaires Islands. This cruise allows you to sail along the coast from Ajaccio and experience the unique red tones of the rocks.

Sanguinaires Islands Boat Cruise

The tour departs from Ajaccio at the designated time, heading west along the Corsican coast. The route includes passing by the house of Tino Rossi, a noted French actor and singer born in this region. Additionally, you will see the ‘Chapel of the Greeks’, built by Greek refugees in the 18th century before moving north on the island.

Next, we arrive at the Sanguinaires Islands, the highlight of the cruise. From the boat, you will view the iconic tower of Parata, a Genoese turret built in 1608, offering a commanding view of the area. The islands are named for their striking reddish rocks made of prevalent jasper.

A stop of 1 hour will be made on the main island of Mezumare for opportunities to swim or walk to the Alphonse Duadet lighthouse at the summit. Mezumare, known as the ‘Grand Sanguinaire’, also features the ruins of a ‘lazarreto’, a former quarantine station now home to various bird species.

After approximately 3 hours, we will return to the port of Ajaccio, concluding the trip.
