At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Akureyri and travel inland to visit the Askja volcano.

During our tour, we will drive through the Lake Myvatn area to the Hrossaborg crater, and take the mountain road to Herðubreiðalindir, a green oasis in a barren volcanic landscape. We will learn about the legend of the outlaw Fjalla-Eyvindur and what led him to Herðubreiðalindir. The tour continues through Iceland's lunar-like terrain, which was used by NASA for astronaut training.

Upon arrival at the Askja volcano, we'll walk along the trails around its craters and lakes, visiting Askja and the smaller Viti crater. You also have the option to enjoy a bath in a hot springs lagoon.

Before returning, we will visit the canyon of the dragons, or Drekagil, surrounded by striking black walls.

We will conclude the excursion and return to Akureyri by 8 pm.
