The Best of Northern Iceland: Godafoss & Lake Mývatn Tour from Akureyri

At the scheduled time, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Akureyri to begin the tour of Godafoss Waterfall and Lake Mývatn.

On the way to Godafoss Waterfall, you will experience the region's natural beauty. Upon arrival, the waterfall, standing twelve meters (40 feet) high and thirty meters (100 feet) wide, will be revealed amid a dramatic volcanic landscape. Godafoss is significant in Iceland's history, marking the beginning of the Christianization, and is also called "the waterfall of the gods."

Our next stop is the volcanic area surrounding Lake Mývatn. We will visit ancient craters, a lava labyrinth, and unique rock formations. This includes a preserved cave, the cracks at Grjótagjá, the mud pots of Hverir, and the lava structures of Dimmuborgir. The views of the Akureyri fjord from this location are remarkable. You may also opt to enjoy the natural baths of Mývatn.

After eight hours of exploration, the tour will conclude with your return to the hotel.
