Tour to Tayma
On this excursion to Tayma, we'll explore an ancient site with over 2,000 years of history and visit palaces and the largest water well in Saudi Arabia.
Between 7 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Al-Ula and drive to the archaeological site of Tayma, a 2-hour journey. You will visit one of the oldest human settlements in Saudi Arabia.
Before arriving, we will make several stops to explore famous monuments along the route, including Bir Haddaj, the country's largest water well, and the palaces of Al Ridham and Al Hamra.
Upon arrival in Tayma, we will visit the notable walls dating back to the 7th century B.C.. This settlement thrived due to its location in an oasis and its role as a junction for trade routes.
Following the visit to the walls, lunch will be at a restaurant featuring Saudi gastronomy.
The next stop will be the ruins of the Qasr Al Romman palace, once owned by Tayma governors. We will conclude our historical exploration at the Al Fajr Museum, which houses artifacts from the site.
We aim to end the excursion between 4 and 5 pm and return you to your hotel.
