Embark on a captivating journey through Alandroal with our guided tour, exploring its landmarks, from the castle to the history of a Spanish noble lineage from the Ancient Regime.

Tour Highlights

Gathering at the scheduled time at the Tourist Office near the border with Spain, our guided tour of Alandroal will focus on the majestic Castle.

Located in a picturesque setting, the Castle of Alandroal also features the church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, known for its baroque architecture. This church is the burial site of Diogo Lopes de Sequeira, who served as governor of Portuguese India from 1518 to 1522.

Next to the Castle is the monumental Fonte das Bicas, an 18th-century baroque fountain made of marble, decorated with six lion-headed gargoyles. Nearby, the City Hall is adjacent to the Republic Square.

A short walk from the Town Hall takes us to the church of Misericordia, where an intriguing story awaits. We will also pass by the Casa de Pimentel and other notable sites.

After a two-hour guided tour of Alandroal, you will have explored the charm of this historically and architecturally rich locale.
