Day Trip to Culla & the Maestrazgo Mining Park

Embark on a remarkable excursion from Alcocéber to explore the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the captivating town of Culla, where you will delve into the fascinating narrative of miners and the ancient presence of the Knights Templar.

This journey commences at the specified hour in front of the Tourist Information Center in Alcocéber, as we set out towards the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the picturesque town of Culla.

Upon reaching the Maestrazgo Mining Park, we will board a train that will take us directly to the entrance of the Victoria mine. Donning our safety equipment, we will initiate a walking expedition through the underground tunnels, immersing ourselves in the history of the miners while uncovering captivating stories throughout our journey.

As we traverse the mine, we will encounter a range of original mining tools and interact with former miners, who will provide personal anecdotes that give us a richer understanding of life in this historical region.

Our exploration continues as we ascend back to the surface to catch a train for a scenic ride to the Esperanza mine. Over the course of about 20 minutes, we will learn about geological phenomena and admire the stunning stalactites and stalagmites formed over centuries.

Before wrapping up our adventure, we will head to Culla, a charming medieval village associated with the Order of the Temple. The historic center of the town is recognized as a Site of Cultural Interest. As we stroll through its delightful cobbled lanes, we will discover its numerous landmarks, including the 11th-century Muslim fortress, the granary of the Comendador, and the former hospital.

Concluding our exploration, we will make our way back to Alcocéber, returning approximately 5 hours after our gathering.
