Day Trip to Culla & the Maestrazgo Mining Park

Join us on an exciting tour from Alcocéber to the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the town of Culla, uncovering the intriguing history of miners and the former residence of the Knights Templar.

Description

Our adventure begins at the designated time in front of the Alcocéber Tourist Office, where we'll commence our excursion to the Maestrazgo Mining Park and the town of Culla.

Upon arrival at the Maestrazgo Mining Park, we'll board a train that will take us to the entrance of the Victoria mine. Here, we'll don safety gear and embark on a walking tour through this underground tunnel, exploring the history of miners and learning valuable insights.

During the tour, we will encounter a variety of original tools and engage with former miners for a personal perspective on life in the Maestrazgo Mining Park.

Next, we will return to the surface and take a scenic train ride to the Esperanza mine for approximately 20 minutes, learning about geological phenomena and viewing stalactites and stalagmites.

Before concluding our trip, we will visit Culla, a medieval town linked to the Order of the Temple, recognized as a Site of Cultural Interest. We will explore charming cobblestone streets and discover historical sites, including the 11th-century Muslim castle, the Comendador's granary, and the former hospital.

Our journey will conclude with a return to Alcocéber, approximately 5 hours after meeting.
