Fortaleza de la Mota Ticket

Constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries, the Fortaleza de la Mota is well-preserved and located on a hill in Alcalá la Real. The ticket allows you to explore the castle at your own pace and includes an English audioguide to learn about its history.

La Alcazaba, the Military Quarter

Observe the thick walls and several watchtowers such as the Torre de la Vela, Torre Mocha, and Torre del Homenaje.

El Bahondillo, the Popular Quarter

Inside the walled area, visit the old residential neighborhood of El Bahondillo, where you can see some cave dwellings, a nevero for food preservation, and remnants of wine cellars related to wine production during the Andalusian period.

La Medina, the Noble Quarter

The Main Abbey was constructed in Christian times over the remains of an old mosque. This Renaissance building features gargoyles and pinnacles. Also located here are the Torre de la Cárcel prison tower and the Casas del Cabildo houses, marking the administrative and religious heart of the fortress, along with remnants of ancient noble palaces.
