Fortaleza de la Mota Ticket
Constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries during the Andalusian period, the Fortaleza de la Mota is one of the best-preserved medieval defensive structures in Andalucía. This castle is situated on a hill in Alcalá la Real offering extensive views. Visitors can explore the castle at their own pace, and the ticket includes an English audioguide to provide insights into the history of its various areas.
Fortress Areas
La Alcazaba, the Military Quarter
Observe the thick walls surrounding the castle along with several watchtowers such as the Torre de la Vela, Torre Mocha, and Torre del Homenaje.
El Bahondillo, the Popular Quarter
This area includes an old residential neighborhood where visitors can see intriguing cave dwellings, a nevero for food preservation, and the remains of wine cellars, highlighting the significance of wine production during the Andalusian period.
La Medina, the Noble Quarter
