Meet us at Café Castello in Piazza della Repubblica to begin our trip to Erice and the Trapani Salt Pans.

After a scenic 1-hour drive, we will arrive in Erice, where we will explore the medieval town. We will stroll through its cobblestone streets, visit the Tower of Venus, and enjoy panoramic views of the Egadi Islands.

Next, we will head to the Trapani Salt Pans to observe the artisanal salt production process. We will explore the landscape defined by mounds of salt and mills. This site has a history dating back to the 12th century when the Normans began extracting salt. We will also visit the Salt Museum for insights into its historic significance.

As we return to the meeting point, we will stop at a bakery for a traditional cannoli, a Sicilian sweet filled with ricotta. We will conclude our day by arriving back in Alcamo after a total of 5.5 hours.
