Day 1: Addis Ababa

Upon landing at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you'll be welcomed before heading to your Addis Ababa hotel for your first night.

Day 2: Addis Ababa - Rock-Hewn Churches, Lalibela

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Lalibela. On arrival, visit the rock-hewn churches designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. Enjoy lunch at local restaurants and explore sacred temples, including Biete Medhane Alem and Biete Maryam. Overnight at your Lalibela hotel.

Day 3: Lalibela - Yemrehana Krestos - Rock-Hewn Churches, Lalibela

After breakfast, visit Yemrehana Krestos cave church. Lunch will be followed by exploring the southeastern churches of Lalibela. Visit notable churches, ending with Biete Giyorgis. Return to your hotel in Lalibela.

Day 4: Lalibela - Asheton St. Maryam Monastery - Lalibela

After breakfast, hike for 2 hours to Asheton St. Maryam Monastery. Continue hiking for another 1.5 hours to Hudad Lalibela Eco-Lodge for lunch and enjoy views of the landscape. Observe local wildlife before returning to your hotel.

Day 5: Lalibela - Bahir Dar

After breakfast, travel by car to Bahir Dar in a 6-7 hour journey. Check into your hotel for the evening.

Day 6: Bahir Dar - Lake Tana - Ura Kidane Mehret - Blue Nile Falls

Breakfast followed by a boat ride to Ura Kidane Mihret Monastery to explore its 14th-century churches. After lunch, visit the Blue Nile Falls. End the day with a visit to the local market.

Day 7: Bahir Dar - Gondar

Travel to Gondar (3-hour drive) to explore the Fasil Ghebi royal campus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit various historic structures, including Debre Birhan Selassie Church. Overnight in Gondar.

Day 8: Gondar - Simien National Park

Travel to Simien National Park and hike for 2-3 hours at Sankaber for mountain views. Next, stay overnight at Simien Lodge in Ughif.

Day 9: Simien National Park - Gondar - Addis Ababa

After breakfast, fly back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy a panoramic tour of significant monuments before a drop-off at Bole International Airport.

Flights

This tour does not include international flights to and from Addis Ababa. Ensure international flights arrive and depart from Addis Ababa on the same day as the tour begins, with departures scheduled for after 9:30 pm on the 9th day. All domestic flights from Addis Ababa to Lalibela and Gondar are included.
