On this day trip, we'll leave behind Alghero to discover the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu and Nuraghe Appiu, two important archeological sites in Sardinia.
Day Trip Details
We will meet at the Piazza della Mercede in Alghero, in front of the church, to begin our day trip. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes to Villanova Monteleone, known for its typical Mediterranean forest vegetation.
Our first stop will be the Necropolis of Puttu Codinu, a Pre-Nuragic site established by Neolithic populations on limestone outcrops. It features nine Domus de Janas, funerary structures with sacred symbols and archaic decorations.
Following this, we will visit the Nuraghe Appiu, an Iron Age settlement constructed with large volcanic rocks, located at the foot of Mount Cuccu facing the sea.
After exploring these archeological highlights, we will return to the meeting point in Alghero, concluding this 4-hour day trip.
