Algiers Kasbah Guided Tour

We'll meet up next to the statue of Bologhine Ben Ziri, founder of the Amazigh dynasty of the Ziris. From this sculpture, we head to the upper part of the Algiers Kasbah: a beautiful citadel declared a World Heritage Site.

As we walk through the narrow streets of this neighborhood, located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, we'll notice the traditional Arab houses that line up alongside them. During the walk, we'll also pass numerous stores where we'll see the traditional products of Algerian craftsmanship.

We'll continue the guided tour through the Kasbah of Algiers in front of the Ketchaoua mosque, where we'll admire the details of its elegant facade. You'll see the colorful tiles on the front of the mosque, blending shapes painted in shades of purple, green, and blue.

The route will then take us into the lower part of the kasbah, where we'll step inside the magnificent Palace of Rais. Here, we'll reveal the story of why this is also known as Bastion 23. Inside this monumental 16th-century complex, formed by three palaces and six luxurious mansions, we'll learn about the history of its inhabitants. More than one conspiracy and romance have been brewed within these walls!

Finally, at 12 pm, we'll conclude the tour by walking through the main streets of the lower part of the kasbah.
