Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike

Go on an adventure in the foothills of one of the peaks in the Cantabrian Mountains on our Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike from La Raya. We'll explore colossal landscapes that lie on the border between Asturias and León.

Torres Peak Snowshoe Hike

At 10:30 am, we'll meet at the La Braña restaurant in La Raya, an Asturian village. After gathering, we'll prepare our equipment and set off on a snowshoeing hike to the glacial cirque of Torres Peak.

During this 3.7-mile (6-kilometre) route, we will navigate smooth ascents and descents by the base of Torres Peak while enjoying views of the area's mountains and valleys. We will come across glacial peat bogs and heathland, and may spot alpine newts, partridges, or hares.

Walking along the snowy trails, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Cantabrian Mountains and get a close look at Torres Peak, which reaches an altitude of 6,900 feet (2,104 metres). We will also share interesting facts about snow and local legends.

We will then begin our return journey to La Raya, completing our activity at approximately 1:30 pm.
