Explore Almeria's most important monument and the largest Arab citadel in Spain, the historic Alcazaba.

Itinerary

Meet your guide at the designated time on Almanzor street, outside the Alcazaba. This fortification was built in the 10th century and later updated by the Catholic Monarchs post-Reconquista. You'll see the remains of the Jayran Walls leading to the complex, and explore its three different walled enclosures that reflect the era of Islamic Andalusia.

In the gardens of the first enclosure, visit the Muro de la Vela, or 'Wall of the Sail', which historically signaled important events to the citizens. The second enclosure features the Odalisque's viewpoint, offering views over the city and port.

The tour concludes with a panoramic view from the Baluarte del Saliente and a return to the Plaza de la Constitución.
