Explore Almeria and discover its legendary history with an expert local guide showing you the historic centre's most iconic monuments.

Guided Walking Tour of Almeria

We'll meet at the selected time in the Puerta de Purchena, located in the city center near the Butterfly House. Experience the impact of the Civil War by visiting the almost three-mile-long Refugios, built as air-raid shelters. Discover the Aljibes Arabes, 11th-century underground cisterns.

Next, you'll reach the Cathedral of the Incarnation, built in the 16th century as both a fortress and a place of worship, along with the Virgin of the Sea sanctuary.

Continue to the Escuela de Artes y Oficio art school and Teatro Cervantes, known for its legends. The Doña Pakita Art Museum, less than a five-minute walk away, features 19th and 20th-century Almerian art.

Conclude your tour at Parque de Nicolás Salmerón, located between the port and historic center, and finish at the iconic Cable Inglés loading dock, an example of 20th-century cast-iron architecture linking the port and railway terminal.
