Guided Walking Tour of Almeria

We'll meet at the selected time in the Puerta de Purchena, located in the city centre near the famous Butterfly House.

Discover the impact of the Civil War as you explore nearly three miles of Refugios, concrete tunnels built as air-raid shelters. Visit the ancient Aljibes Arabes, well-preserved 11th-century underground cisterns.

Next, visit the Cathedral of the Incarnation, originally constructed as a fortress and place of worship in the 16th century. See the Virgin of the Sea sanctuary and learn about both temples.

Proceed to the Escuela de Artes y Oficio art school, followed by the Teatro Cervantes, home to numerous legends and rumored ghosts.

The Doña Pakita Art Museum is a five-minute walk away, featuring Almerian art from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Conclude your tour in the Parque de Nicolás Salmerón, located between the port and the historic centre. Finally, end at the Cable Inglés loading dock, a notable example of 20th-century cast-iron architecture.
