Mt. Pilatus Cogwheel Train
This train ticket provides a full day of access to the Cogwheel train that goes up to Mount Pilatus, situated at 2132 meters (7,000 feet) above sea level, marking the border between the cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden, and Obwalden. To climb Mount Pilatus from Alpnach, head to Brüningstrasse 2, where you can board the steepest Cogwheel railway, featuring a gradient of 48%. The journey takes 30 minutes to reach the Pilatus Kulm station, offering views through beautiful meadows and alpine forests.
Upon arrival at the Pilatus station, visitors can enjoy the lookout point and a panoramic restaurant with views of the Alps.

Cable Car from Kriens
The train service from Alpnach operates only between May 17, 2024, and November 17, 2024. For winter visits, a different option is available. The cable car will be closed for maintenance from October 21, 2024 to November 08, 2024; during this period, Mt. Pilatus can be accessed by cogwheel railway from Alpnachstad.
