Amboise Castle Entrance Ticket

Amboise Castle is a significant historical site in the Loire Valley. With a skip-the-line entrance, visitors can explore its gardens and rooms. The castle showcases Renaissance decoration initiated by King Louis XII and continued by Francis I, who invited Leonardo da Vinci to reside nearby. The castle features the chapel of Saint Hubert, holding da Vinci's tomb, where he reportedly died in Francis I's arms. The castle's panoramic terraces offer views of the Loire River.

HistoPad

The skip-the-line ticket includes a brochure and a HistoPad, a tablet loaded with English explanations and videos, allowing for a self-guided tour to learn about the castle's history.

Amboise Castle Tour

A guided tour in French, called "Racks of History," is available, granting access to several areas of the castle including the basement, Garçonnet Tower, Hall of Lilies, ditches of the old keep, and underground labyrinths. This 60-minute tour is recommended for ages 7 and older and can be booked at the ticket office. Tours run at 5:30 pm daily from August 1-31, and at 5 pm on weekends in September, excluding Heritage Days.
