Discover the history of the Châteaux de Chenonceau and Chambord with this tour from Amboise. You'll also visit the Duhard Cellars.

Description

The Loire Valley is filled with wineries, châteaux, and beautiful landscapes. The tour begins with pickup from the Amboise Tourist Office at 9:30 am. The first stop will be the Château de Chenonceau, known for its arches over the river Cher.

The Château de Chenonceau, or "Château des Dames," is a notable royal palace in the Loire Valley. Inside, we'll visit the rooms of Catherine de Medici and learn about other prominent women of the Renaissance. The name "Chenonceau" is linked to its location in Chenonceaux, a detail of interest.

Next, we will return to Amboise for a light lunch at the Duhard Wine Cellars, featuring a tasting of three French wines paired with local cold meats and cheeses.

After lunch, we will head to the Château de Chambord, one of the largest in the Loire Valley. The visit includes the interior, showcasing unique features such as a spiral staircase, which is said to be designed by Leonardo da Vinci. The presence of the French Renaissance is evident throughout the castle.

After the visit to Château de Chambord, we will return to the Tourist Office in Amboise, expected by 6 pm.
