Description

The Loire Valley is known for its wineries, châteaux, and landscapes. Pickup from the Amboise Tourist Office will be at 9:30 am. The first stop will be the Château de Chenonceau, famous for its arches over the river Cher.

The Château de Chenonceau, also called the "Château des Dames," is a notable royal palace in the Loire Valley. Visitors will explore the rooms of Catherine de Medici and learn about the influential women of the Renaissance associated with this site.

A light lunch will be provided at the Duhard Wine Cellars in Amboise, including a tasting of three French wines paired with regional cold meats and cheeses.

After lunch, the tour continues to the Château de Chambord, one of the largest in the Loire Valley. Visitors will see its unique architectural features, including a spiral staircase, reputedly designed by Leonardo da Vinci. The influence of the French Renaissance is evident throughout the castle.
