Description
The Loire Valley offers wineries, châteaux, and picturesque landscapes. The tour begins with a pickup from the Amboise Tourist Office at 9:30 am. The first stop is the Château de Chenonceau, recognized for its arches over the river Cher.
The Château de Chenonceau, known as the "Château des Dames," is a notable royal palace in the Loire Valley. The visit includes the rooms of Catherine de Medici and other significant women of the Renaissance. Attendees will learn about the château's name and the history of its residents.
The excursion continues with a light lunch at the Duhard Wine Cellars, including a tasting of three French wines paired with cold meats and cheeses.
After lunch, the tour proceeds to the Château de Chambord, one of the largest in the region. The visit includes the interior of this architectural landmark, featuring a spiral staircase, traditionally attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The influence of the French Renaissance is evident throughout the castle.
