Ceremony Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amritsar and board a vehicle to attend the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony. After a drive of about 40 minutes, we'll arrive at the Wagah-Attari border. This ceremony has taken place every day since 1948. Upon arrival, we'll sit on the bleachers and enjoy a welcome drink. The ceremony includes the closing of the border fence as the border guards salute each other and perform various military movements and formations.
During the ceremony, we'll explain the history behind this ritual, also known as the "Beating Retreat Ceremony". It takes place every evening before sunset and lasts 30 minutes, where Indian and Pakistani soldiers display their patriotism and camaraderie.
Finally, after 4-5 hours at the Wagah-Attari border, we'll take you back to your hotel in Amritsar and say our goodbyes.
