Ceremony Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amritsar and board a vehicle to attend the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony. This military spectacle takes place at the Wagah-Attari border.
After a drive of about 40 minutes, we'll arrive at the border. This ceremony has been occurring daily since 1948. Upon arrival, we'll sit on the bleachers and enjoy a welcome drink. During the ceremony, you'll witness the closing of the border fence and observe the border guards as they salute each other and perform various military movements and formations.
As we watch the closing of the Wagah border, we'll explain the history behind this ritual, also known as the "Beating Retreat Ceremony." This 30-minute event showcases both Indian and Pakistani soldiers participating in a display of patriotism and camaraderie every evening before sunset.
Finally, after 4-5 hours of enjoying this ceremony, we'll take you back to your hotel in Amritsar and say our goodbyes.
