Are you in Amritsar? Then you can't miss the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony, a unique military spectacle of the lowering of the flags of India and Pakistan.

Ceremony Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amritsar and board a vehicle to attend the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony. We will see this military spectacle up close.

After a drive of about 40 minutes, we'll arrive at the Wagah-Attari border. This ceremony has taken place every day since 1948. Upon arrival, we'll sit on the bleachers and enjoy a welcome drink. During the ceremony, you'll witness the closing of the border fence as the border guards salute and perform various military movements and formations.

As we watch the closing of the Wagah border, we'll explain the history behind this ritual, also known as the "Beating Retreat Ceremony." Every evening before sunset, both Indian and Pakistani soldiers participate in this 30-minute event showcasing their patriotism and camaraderie.

Finally, after 4-5 hours at the Wagah-Attari border, we'll take you back to your hotel in Amritsar and say our goodbyes.
