Guided Tour

The tour meets at the indicated time in the center of Amsterdam. Participants will board a bus to visit the windmills of Zaanse Schans and Westerland. First, the tour stops at Zaanse Schans, known for its windmills which produced oil, paint, mustard, and paper in the 17th and 18th centuries. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore some windmills.

The region is also famous for its clogs. A workshop visit is included to see traditional clog-making. Next, the tour proceeds to Edam, known for its cheese and historical significance as a major port. Here, there will be a visit to a dairy farm to sample its cheese.

After Edam, the group will move on to Volendam, where participants can wander its vibrant streets and fishing port, with free time to eat and explore. The final stop is Marken, a fishing village known for its traditional wooden houses. The tour concludes with a return to Amsterdam 6 to 8 hours after departure.

This option includes the previous itinerary plus additional experiences. In Zaanse Schans, visitors will tour a working windmill.
