Angers Castle Tickets

Angers Castle is a prominent fortress in western France, home to the notable Apocalypse Tapestry, a 14th-century masterpiece.

Why Visit Angers Castle?

Originally constructed by the Counts of Anjou to showcase power, Angers Castle features 17 defensive towers and a moat. Visitors can explore the towers and battlements and enjoy the medieval gardens. The site also includes the chapel of St. John the Baptist, with various medieval sacred artworks. The highlight is the Apocalypse Tapestry, which measures 20 feet high and 350 feet long, depicting the Apocalypse of Saint John, and is one of France’s significant tapestries due to its size and preservation.

The opening hours of Angers Castle are:

May 2 to September 4: 10 am to 6:30 pmSeptember 5 to April 30: 10 am to 5:30 pm

Last admission is 45 minutes before closing. On December 24 and 31, the museum closes at 4:30 pm.

Free Admission

Admission to Angers Castle is free for:

Young people from the EU aged 18 to 25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.

Additionally, free entry is available on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, as well as the third weekend of September. To receive free admission, visit the ticket office with a certifying document.
