Constructed by the Counts of Anjou during the Middle Ages, Angers Castle is located on the banks of the Maine River. Its impressive structure includes 17 defensive towers and a deep moat. Tickets grant access to the towers and battlements, with a recommended visit to the medieval gardens. Inside the castle, the chapel of St. John the Baptist features various works of sacred art. The centerpiece is the Apocalypse Tapestry, displayed at the Château d'Angers, which is noted for its size and preservation.
