Constructed by the Counts of Anjou on the Maine River, Angers Castle features 17 defensive towers and a deep moat. Visitors can explore the towers and battlements and enjoy a walk through the castle's medieval gardens. Inside, the chapel of St. John the Baptist contains medieval sacred art. The Apocalypse Tapestry, a significant artwork measuring 20 feet high and 350 feet long, illustrates the Apocalypse of Saint John and is a highlight of the castle.
