Hiking Trails in Terceira

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of four different walking trail options. All four include pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Angra do Heroísmo and last two and a half hours.

Monte Brasil Trail

This trail combines city and nature starting at Relvão Park, proceeding to the São João Baptista Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and exploring the town of Angra do Heroísmo, before heading into nature to discover the four peaks of Monte Brasil.

Rocha do Chambre Trail

Starting from Malha Grande in the Bioscoitos area, this trail immerses hikers in the natural surroundings, learning about endemic species in the Rocha do Chambre region, and features sightings of magnificent cedar trees over a wooden bridge.

Baías da Agualva Trail

Beginning near Pico dos Loiros, this route passes historic buildings and stone walls linked to winemaking traditions. It includes stops at the Bay of Pombas for views of rugged cliffs, birdwatching opportunities, and visits to Ponta do Misterio and Baias da Agualva.

San Sebastián Fortresses Trail

Commencing on the road to Punta de las Contendas, this trail explores ancient fortresses including the Fort of Greta, Forte de Santa Catarina das Mós, and the Fort of Bom Jesus, finishing in the main square of San Sebastian.
