Hiking Trails in Terceira

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of four different walking trail options. All four include pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Angra do Heroísmo and last two and a half hours.

Monte Brasil Trail

This trail begins at Relvão Park and includes a visit to the São João Baptista Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route will also explore the town of Angra do Heroísmo and the natural beauty of the four peaks of Monte Brasil.

Rocha do Chambre Trail

The hike starts from Malha Grande in the Bioscoitos area. Participants will explore the Rocha do Chambre area, learning about endemic flora and fauna. A highlight includes crossing a wooden bridge surrounded by magnificent cedar trees.

Baías da Agualva Trail

This trail begins near Pico dos Loiros, featuring historic buildings and protective stone walls linked to winemaking traditions. A notable stop is Bay of Pombas, known for its rugged cliffs. Birdwatching opportunities will be available, alongside views of Ponta do Misterio and the wild beauty of Baias da Agualva.

San Sebastián Fortresses Trail

This hike starts on the road to Punta de las Contendas near its lighthouse. Participants will explore ancient fortresses, including Fort of Greta and Fort of Bom Jesus, concluding the tour in the main square of San Sebastian.
