Hiking Trails in Terceira
When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of four different walking trail options. All four include pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Angra do Heroísmo and last two and a half hours.
Monte Brasil Trail
This trail combines city and nature, beginning at Relvão Park and proceeding to the São João Baptista Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route then continues through the town of Angra do Heroísmo and explores the four peaks of Monte Brasil.
Rocha do Chambre Trail
The hike starts from Malha Grande in the Bioscoitos area, focusing on the island's flora and fauna, particularly the magnificent cedar trees along the wooden bridge in Rocha do Chambre.
Baías da Agualva Trail
Starting near Pico dos Loiros, this trail includes visits to historic buildings and stone walls associated with winemaking traditions. Highlights include the Bay of Pombas, birdwatching opportunities, and sites like Ponta do Misterio and Baias da Agualva.
San Sebastián Fortresses Trail
The hike begins at Punta de las Contendas with a view of the lighthouse and includes ancient fortresses such as the Fort of Greta, Forte de Santa Catarina das Mós, and Fort of Bom Jesus, concluding in the main square of San Sebastian.
