West Terceira Van Tour + Cheese Tasting

At the agreed time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Angra do Heroismo, the capital of the island. Next to this city, we'll find Monte Brasil. The tour includes a 40-minute walking exploration on the peninsula of Monte Brasil, which formed around an extinct tuff volcano. We will investigate its caldera and its four peaks: Cruces, Facho, Zimbreiro, and Quebrada, with the latter being a notable spot for Atlantic whale watching.

Following Monte Brasil, we will continue to Terceira with short photo stops in the villages of São Mateus da Calheta and Santa Barbara. We will then visit a farm on the inner part of the island for a tasting of Azorean cheeses, such as Queijo Vaquinha, featuring a selection of prominent cheese brands popular in Portugal.

Next, we will stop at the natural pools of Biscoitos for a half-hour walking tour to discuss how these lagoons were formed, which is related to volcanic activity. Finally, we will return to your hotel, arriving approximately 3-4 hours after pickup.
