Learn how to make typical local specialties from the world-famous Cretan diet in a traditional home with an outdoor kitchen! Androniki will teach you to make a selection of traditional Greek appetizers, mains and desserts, and then you'll be able to enjoy them!

The cooking class place takes place outside using Androniki's wood oven, homegrown produce (vegetables) and homemade ingredients (olive oil). From classic Greek dishes like kremidokalitsouna, Chortopities and Sfakianes pites to homemade drinks like Raki, you're in for a treat!

Expect plenty of food and delicious Greek wine, traditional Greek hospitality and great company!

Aperitif

• Cretan tea or Greek coffee or Raki

• Cretan tea is a warm drink, a mixture of wild Cretan herbs

• Greek coffee (traditional hot or modern cold-frape)

• Raki is a famous local drink

• Cheese pies with honey

• kalitsounia - Small pies with homemade cheese and honey

During the class

• Small pies with many (10-12) different wild greens

• Pies with homemade cheese. Sfakia specialty (Sfakia is a village on the Cretan mountain)

Appetizer

• Homemade cheese with fresh milk from sheep and goats

• Daco (Traditional Cretan salad with rusk, tomato, cheese, olive oil, herbs)

• Tzatziki

• Strained yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and olive oil

• Greek salad with barley rusk, tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper, onion, caper, kritamo, olives, and of course enough olive oil.

• Fava (yellow split pea, tomato, onion, caper, olive oil)

• Eggplants baked in the wood-oven (eggplants, cheese, tomato-onion sauce ….)

Main course

• Gemista - Dolmadakia

• Stuffed vine leaves, zucchini flower, tomatoes, courgettes, peppers with rice, vegetables, herbs, and olive oil

• Boureki

• Chania specialty. Layers of courgettes, potatoes, home made cheese in the wood-oven

Dessert

• Greek yogurt or homemade ice cream with sweet spoon or a local sweet

• Strained yogurt or homemade ice cream with homemade fruit-sweet

• Raki - Home made liqueur - Fresh seasonal fruits
