Discover why Torcal de Antequera is one of Andalusia's most spectacular nature reserves and one of Europe's most impressive karst landscapes on this guided hiking trip.
Activity Details
We'll meet at the indicated time in the Torcal Alto car park. From there, we'll set off on a spectacular hiking route through the Torcal de Antequera.
Our journey will begin with a hiking route featuring limestone formations that resemble castles, animals, and faces, shaped by the sea during the Jurassic period. We will follow a circular path where each bend reveals new silhouettes: the screw, the hat, the dice, and the binoculars.
As we walk, we will discuss the geological processes that have shaped the stones over millions of years and learn to recognize embedded marine fossils. The local wildlife, including mountain goats and griffon vultures, will be visible during the hike, along with wild orchids. We will take breaks to appreciate the panoramic views of the Vega de Antequera.
The hiking route will conclude at the meeting point after approximately 3 hours.
