Discover why Torcal de Antequera is one of Andalusia's most spectacular nature reserves and one of Europe's most impressive karst landscapes on this guided hiking trip.
Activity Details
We'll meet at the indicated time in the Torcal Alto car park. From there, we'll set off on a hiking route through the Torcal de Antequera.
We will begin our hiking route through various rock formations resembling castles, animals, or large faces, shaped by natural processes. The area was influenced by the primitive Mediterranean Sea during the Jurassic period.
The route features a circular path where we will encounter limestone formations with unique shapes like the screw, hat, dice, and binoculars.
As we walk, we will discuss how the sea, wind, and rain have sculpted these stones over millions of years and identify marine fossils. We will also observe wildlife including mountain goats, griffon vultures, and wild orchids. We will take breaks to enjoy panoramic views of the Vega de Antequera.
The hiking route will conclude at the meeting point after 3 hours.
