Enchiladas, tamales.... Delight in the exotic flavors of Guatemalan cuisine on this food tour of Antigua Guatemala.
Food Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Antigua Guatemala for a culinary exploration of this colonial city. The first stop is San Felipe, where you will sample a hot beverage called atol, a chuchito, and a regional sweet. The atol de elote is made from ground corn, milk, cinnamon, and sugar. The chuchitos are corn dough tamales filled with meat and topped with tomato sauce, followed by a local sweet.
Next, we will visit La Merced church to taste Guatemalan enchiladas, which differ from the Mexican variant and are made with fried tortillas, beetroot, ground meat, vegetables, hard-boiled egg, and parsley, served with a refreshing drink.
The tour concludes in Santa Ana, where you have the option of a shuco or a búfalo. The shuco is a local hot dog variant, while El Búfalo is a large bread filled with beans, meat, cabbage, and a special house dressing.
After 3 hours of sightseeing, we’ll return you to your hotel in Antigua Guatemala.
