Embark on a captivating journey across the island of Antigua, setting off from Saint John. This excursion promises to take you through significant historical landmarks and picturesque sites of the largest island in the nation of Antigua and Barbuda—an experience that is truly essential!

Antigua Island Exploration

Join us at 9 am at Heritage Quay in Saint John, where our exciting adventure around Antigua will commence.

Our first stop will lead us inland to explore the ancient sugar mills. Here, we'll delve into the fascinating history of how sugar cane was processed using these time-honored presses, which played a pivotal role in the production of rum and other distilled spirits. Witnessing these historical techniques firsthand provides a unique glimpse into the island’s past.

Next, our journey takes us to the southern part of Antigua, where we will explore Nelson's Dockyard, a stunning cultural heritage site. Nestled in the English Harbour, this dockyard was historically significant, serving as a strategic location for the British Empire's interests in the Caribbean.

Following our visit to the dock and its informative museum, we'll pause for a delightful lunch at a nearby restaurant, offering a variety of daily specials to choose from.

Post-lunch, our adventure continues to the vantage point at Shirley Heights. Here, prepare to be enchanted by breathtaking panoramic views of the entire island—don’t forget your camera to capture this scenic beauty!

Our enriching exploration of Antigua will conclude as we return to our original meeting spot, arriving around 2:30 pm.
