Discover how authentic ham from Huelva is made from free-range pigs. We'll visit a ham curer and take part in a delicious tasting of Iberian tastings.

Description

We'll meet at the indicated time, next to the Descansadero de Marimateos Park, on the outskirts of the town, and make our way to the source of the Odiel River. We'll walk along the trail through the Sierra de Arecena pastures, enjoying the natural beauty of this Natural Park. Our local guide will join us and provide information about the flora and fauna encountered during the walk.

We'll then arrive at the estate where the Iberian pigs are let run free. We'll learn about their raising and the characteristics of this unique peninsular species that contributes to producing high-quality products. We will then continue our guided tour to the ham and cold meats factory, visiting the various rooms involved in the production process. In the natural drying and curing room, we'll observe the traditional preparation and curing process of the ham.

In the final part of our tour, we'll participate in an authentic cured product tasting, which includes Jamón Iberico de la Bellota (Iberian Acorn-Fed Ham) along with Marqués de Aracena white and red wine. The on-site shop will be open at the end of the visit for those interested in purchasing delicacies.
